The Dreadlock details

Full head of dreadlocks using your own hair will usually take around 8 hours or done over 1-2 days if your not able to sit for too long = $550

A regular maintenance is recommended as its better for your dreads, as they will look better,and you will feel better, hourly rate of $65. Additional Charge for Mobile and Weekends.

Extentions - If you want instant synthetic dreads this will take around 1-2 days = $750 or just pop into the Salon and i can give you a free dready consultation.

Sarah's hair was 6 inches long. She purchased some synthetic dreadlock extentions and i used a combined method of back combing, wrapping and crochet to join them to her own hair. I just braided her fringe to get it out the way. They look fantastic.

We do not advocate the use of Wax or any chemicals including perming lotion in the creation of dreadlocks.

Judgements!!!

You will be judged by others for your hair style choice, sad but true, i found that the two usual boxes you get put in to help the closed minded deal with themselves is:

1) You must be a dope smoking hippy/student/dropout on drugs who goes around shouting Rastafari.

2) You must be one of those my body is my temple types and grow your own veg, are either vegan or only eat raw food and home school your children.

You will also get a lot of interest from other people who will ask many questions, like can you wash it? can you sleep on it? Does it smell? blah blah blah. So be prepared.

Do your research before you commit to dreadys, please don't go and get a perm and then stick lots of wax in your hair its not conducive to good dreads and just makes a mess.

Things to think about before you make your decision

1. Find out if the lifestyle and the maintenance required for dreadlocks is right for you.
2. dreadlocks take time. They are not an instant hairstyle. The only way to instant dreadlocks is to have extention dreads put in, give it a go its a good trial before growing your own.
3. Your Job. There are alot of drones out there who whould quiet happily sack you. Check out the situation first.
4. How much do you really care what people think of you and your taste in hair styles?
5. Proper dreadlock maintenance. VERY IMPORTANT! The key to great dreadlocks is knowing how to take care of them.
